Black and White Pillars

Black and white pillars have been painted in.

The black and white pillars can be found in one of the oldest mesoamerican sites, Chavin de Huanter (~1000BC) , where the black carved pillars and black and white stone temple symbolise the balance between black and white, night and day, female and male.

Chavin de Huanter is also famous for its Jaguar carvings but more of that later......
