Tezcatlipoca, taking his awesome jaguar form, ignites and magickally empowers the fire.

Tezcatlipoca – Taking Lots

Tezcatlipoca, with the future pouring from his obsidian mirror, organises lots to be taken to choose two fine individuals. Chosen by fate to become the personification of light, the sun and the moon.

And the overview!

St Pedro Empowers Fire

Tezcatlipoca uses St Pedro as a wand to empower the fire, tying the black and white together in its flames.

St Pedro - the sacred cactus

St Pedro, the sacred cactus, a hallucinogen, and used in shamanic rites from antiquity.

There are suggestions that the temple guardians of Sechin Temple in Peru are carrying this hallowed plant.

Excellent carving of warriors carrying the cactus can also be found at Chavin de Huanter
….more to follow later

And another Overview

And another Overview

The Condor soars

The Condor - one of the three great spirits - ruler and animal spirit of air and the mountains - stretches its wings and starts taking form.

There are some great images of condors in the wild on these sites:-

Peru - Prehistoric Culture

Peru is made of three zones -
The Desert coast - with the wealth of the Pacific Ocean
The Andes - both black and white - with soaring sheer sided mountains
The Amazon - with its rich and diverse jungle

Some of the earliest temples – such as Sechin (Casma) ~1290 BC and the temple complexes in Marka Wasi– have a threefold structure.
The ground floor is dedicated to the whale or fish
The middle layer is dedicated to the jaguar
And the top to the Condor

Some links to these temple complexes are:-

Some of the oldest ruins at Sechin are from ~3500BC

and we will be going back to them later!

A Year Goes By -

How to show time passing - without the moon to mark months, and the sun to mark years?

So Ive used a bit of artistic licence..... and used the sun and swirls to mark the months and the progression of time
